I decided to start this blog so I could have something to look back on as my children grow... You know.. to be able to capture little moments in our family :) So, my first entry and probably all my entries will involve my two little boys, Luke and Jake. They are two years and ten days apart. We wanted to have them close together so they would have each other and hopefully be best buddies. One of the first questions people ask me is... "How has Luke handled having a little brother?" Well, when Jacob was first born my response was..."He is doing great!! He hugs and kisses his brother... we have not had any problems at all." Well, after a few weeks the newness wore off... Luke realized that baby Jake was here to stay... and he also began to see how much of mommy's time baby Jake took up. Being my sneaky little two year old he would pretend he was going to hug baby Jake and as soon as he got close enough would look me straight in the eye and pinch him. You can imagine my horror when this started to happen. I just knew this would pass in a few days... Well, months later we were still having outbursts and little pinches here and there. I had finally decided that my dream of my two little boys being close may not happen. After all, not all siblings are as close as I am with mine. But, something happened a few mornings ago after I had poured my first cup of coffee... I rounded the corner a saw Luke hugging his brother.... I knew It was the real thing because he was hugging with his eyes closed. He does this when he really wants you to know he loves you. He gives it everything he's got. I immediately ran and grabbed the camera to catch this moment. So.. here it is!! Yep.. I think these two will be buddies after all. I can't wait to see what they get into over the years and I hope to share it all with you!!
